Tara Francis

I joined the Metropolitan School Frankfurt (MSF) as Primary Principal in 2015 and took on the role of Assistant Director in 2017. Before coming to Frankfurt, I worked for eight years at the International School Telemark (IST) in Norway, where I was an elementary teacher for grades 1 and 6, PYP Coordinator, Primary Principal, and finally Deputy Head (Curriculum). During my time in Norway, I served on the board of Norwegian IB Schools (NIBS) and was a non-voting member of the IST board. I am a member of accreditation teams for CIS and NEASC. I have also worked in the UK, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.

I hope to support AGIS schools on the topic of "wellbeing." At Metropolitan School Frankfurt, I trained as a Senior Mental Health Lead at the Anna Freud Centre and led the introduction of a range of staff wellbeing initiatives. When staff mental health is well supported, it has a positive impact on student wellbeing. I am responsible for the external accreditation and evaluation process at Metropolitan School Frankfurt and believe it is important that these external compliance measures do not overwhelm staff and that they are handled effectively, efficiently, and strategically.
