Tara Francis

I joined the Metropolitan School Frankfurt (MSF) as Primary Principal in 2015 and as Assistant Director from 2017. Since August 2026, I have been taking on the role of Director / Head of School (Teaching & Learning) at MSF. Before coming to Frankfurt, I worked for eight years at the International School Telemark (IST) in Norway, where I was an elementary teacher for grades 1 and 6, PYP Coordinator, Primary Principal, and finally Deputy Head (Curriculum). During my time in Norway, I served on the board of Norwegian IB Schools (NIBS) and was a non-voting member of the IST board. I am a member of accreditation teams for CIS and NEASC. I have also worked in the UK, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.

As an AGIS Board Member, I am committed to strengthening collaboration across our member schools and supporting initiatives that enhance teaching, learning, and wellbeing. With experience in school leadership, accreditation, strategic planning, and professional learning, I hope to contribute to the sharing of effective practices that help schools meet common challenges while maintaining a strong focus on student growth and staff development. The AGIS professional network supports all schools in continuous improvement, and champions the provision of high-quality, inclusive, and future-focused education for all learners.
