Berufliche Laufbahn
John has been teaching and leading in international education for over 20 years. During this time, he has worked in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Denmark, Germany, and China. John came to ISHR from Harrow International School in Beijing, where he was Deputy Head of a 1,600-student school with two campuses (ages 3-18). He also brings valuable and relevant experience from his previous role as Secondary School Principal and Deputy Director at the Bavarian International School in Munich. John is proud and grateful to be the Director of ISHR.
John and his wife Carole have two daughters (born in Hong Kong and Taiwan) and can therefore attest to the joys and benefits of an international education – both as a school leader and as parents.
John is an avid musician and plays a variety of instruments (with varying levels of proficiency), including guitar, drums, piano, banjo, and ukulele. Although his marathon running days are behind him, John still enjoys running and is also an avid cyclist. He also tries to practice what he teaches by maintaining healthy and varied reading habits.
